End of COVID-19 public health emergency brings changes

After 1,200 days, the federal public health emergency for COVID-19 ended May 11, 2023. While this does not mean the pandemic has officially ended, it does mean the emergency response on a national level has ended, and with it, the availability and access to some services will change. The Oak Park Public Health Department has created a summary list of affected programs, including Medicaid, SNAP food benefits, U.S. border restrictions and insurance coverage for COVID testing and treatment.
