Cara Pavlicek began her career in municipal government in the city manager’s office in Des Moines, Iowa. She served nine years as city administrator of La Vista, Nebraska, following one year as an assistant. In Chicagoland, her experience began with a position as village manager of Downers Grove. She joined the Village of Oak Park as parking manager in 2008, overseeing a complex system of meters, surface lots, garages and thousands of permits and vehicle stickers. She was named interim village manager in March 2012, then unanimously approved as village manager in January 2013.
Education: Master of Arts in Public Affairs from University of Iowa; Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Washington; Credentialed Manager in International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
