Oak Park Farmers' Market returns for 47th season

May 17, 2022 – More than two dozen regional vendors will offer a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, cheese, frozen meat, bread and baked goods during the 47th season of the Oak Park Farmers’ Market, which kicks off this Saturday.

The Market is held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from May 21 through Oct. 29 in the Pilgrim Congregational Church parking lot, 460 Lake St., one block west of Ridgeland Avenue.

In addition to an array of sustainable, locally-sourced goods, the Market also features donuts made on-site, fresh coffee and live bluegrass music.

Special events are held at the Market throughout the year, starting with Go Green Days during the first two Markets on May 21 and 28.

Environmental sustainability is the focus of Go Green Days. As part of the event, Oak Park’s Climate Plan team will be on hand sharing information about the draft Climate Plan and gathering feedback about the goals outlined in the plan. More information about the Climate Plan is available at www.oak-park.us/climateplan.

Other special events at the Market this season include the annual Corn Roast on Aug. 6, Pie Baking Contest on Sept. 17 and Stone Soup celebration at the final Market of the season Oct. 29.

While the Market is expected to operate much like it did before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, officials continue to monitor local COVID-19 metrics and will incorporate appropriate mitigation measures if necessary.

All vendors accept Link cards, and a majority of the vendors accept credit/debit cards, as well as WIC and senior coupons.
