Pedestrian signals go touchless

Pedestrian crossing signals at many of the busiest intersections across the Village have been set to automatically provide the walk light without the need to push the request button.

The change was made to eliminate the possibility of the COVID-19 coronavirus being transmitted by residents who may be accustomed to pushing the button to cross.

Laminated signs have been installed by the buttons to let pedestrians know there is no need to request the crossing signal.

Pedestrians are asked to be patient and wait for the crossing light before proceeding. More information on the Village response to the pandemic is posted at
