Monday, November 4, 2019  ::   Diabetes is one of the leading causes of disability and death in the United States, and throughout November the Village’s Public Health Department is promoting healthy living choices that can help stave off the disease as part of American Diabetes Month.
Friday, November 1, 2019  ::   Oak Park is turning its focus to the problem of food waste, with residents invited to an upcoming film screening and workshop as part of the community’s Food Waste Awareness Week from November 3-9.
Thursday, October 31, 2019  ::   When severe weather creates debris from trees on private property, owners are reminded not to bring limbs or brush to the curb, but make other arrangements for its disposal.
Thursday, October 24, 2019  ::   Hours for Halloween trick or treating in the Village are 4 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31. Parents are encouraged to accompany young children, especially after dark, and inspect all treats.
Friday, October 18, 2019  ::   The annual fall leaf collection program for 2019 is scheduled for Oct. 21 through Dec. 12 with eight pickups planned for each section of the Village.
Friday, October 4, 2019  ::   The Village’s Public Health Department is participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October by sharing information about local resources available to help fight the disease.
Thursday, October 3, 2019  ::   By shopping at the Oak Park Farmers’ Market, customers support local farmers and small businesses from the Midwest while helping cut down on the pollution and energy costs of shipping produce long distances.
Tuesday, October 1, 2019  ::   Oak Parkers young, old and in between with an interest in modern firefighting and emergency medical services should mark their calendars for Saturday, October 5. That's when the Oak Park Fire Department will open its doors to the public for an open house.
Tuesday, October 1, 2019  ::   Residents selected at random are being invited to participate in a community survey to help policy makers better understand priorities for government action and citizen opinions on quality of life and public services. Responses can be submitted by mail or online.
Thursday, September 12, 2019  ::   The Village is partnering with the Oak Park Township, Oak Park Library and Park District of Oak Park on a new dementia-friendly initiative with the goal of having Oak Park designated as a Dementia Friendly Community by the non-profit organization Dementia Friendly America.
