Tuesday, October 1, 2019  ::   Residents selected at random are being invited to participate in a community survey to help policy makers better understand priorities for government action and citizen opinions on quality of life and public services. Responses can be submitted by mail or online.
Thursday, September 12, 2019  ::   The Village is partnering with the Oak Park Township, Oak Park Library and Park District of Oak Park on a new dementia-friendly initiative with the goal of having Oak Park designated as a Dementia Friendly Community by the non-profit organization Dementia Friendly America.
Wednesday, September 11, 2019  ::   Nominations are being sought for the Village's annual awards that recognize efforts by organizations, individuals and businesses to improve Oak Park through property preservation, sustainability and accessibility.
Wednesday, September 4, 2019  ::   The Oak Park Farmers' Market's third annual Pie Bake-Off will take place from about 10 to 11 a.m. this Saturday. Thirteen entrants will participate in the event. Slices of pie will be given away to Market visitors after the contest on a first-come, first-served basis.
Saturday, August 31, 2019  ::   Oak Park Police are investigating a vehicle hijacking that occurred at about 8:30 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 30 near the West Cook YMCA.
Wednesday, August 28, 2019  ::   The Village of Oak Park is taking part in National Preparedness Month throughout September and encouraging residents to be “prepared, not scared” in the event of an emergency.
Thursday, August 22, 2019  ::   An Oak Parker with more than a decade of experience has been selected as the new Assistant Village Manager/Director of Human Resources for the Village of Oak Park. Kira Tchang is scheduled to assume her new role with the Village On Aug. 26.
Wednesday, August 21, 2019  ::   The enrollment process is underway for a new electricity aggregation contract that will ensure participants never pay more than the ComEd energy rate and provides support for solar energy generation during the 24-month term of the agreement.
Tuesday, August 20, 2019  ::   Much-needed improvements to the pedestrian bridge over the Eisenhower Expressway at Home Avenue will require closing the popular walkway for the entire month of September. The bridge has remained essentially unchanged since it was built in about 1957.
Friday, August 16, 2019  ::   As the Labor Day holiday approaches and Illinois residents mark the end of summer with celebrations, the Oak Park Police Department will join law enforcement agencies throughout the state in cracking down on impaired, unbuckled and distracted drivers.
