Climate Ready Energy Rebates
The Village’s Climate Ready Energy Rebates program is designed to provide financial assistance to advance electrification and reduce natural gas combustion in houses, condos and apartments in Oak Park. This program is a compliment to the Climate Ready Energy Grants and Loans.
Climate Ready Energy Rebates provide incentives for electric appliances not eligible under the grant and loan programs. These rebates may be stacked with ComEd’s Appliance Rebates.

What is covered under this rebate program?
There are three types of appliances which are covered under this program.
- Heat Pump Clothes Dryers - $300
- Induction Cooktops and Ranges - $400
- Saddle-style Window Heat Pump - $500
When combined with ComEd’s Appliance Rebates, Oak Park residents have access to a rebate of $500 per appliance.
The amount of the Village’s rebate will not exceed the cost to the resident of the appliance indicated in the itemized proof-of-purchase minus the value of the available ComEd rebate.
How to apply
Apply for the rebate in the Village’s grant portal.
Have the following documents available:
- Itemized proof of purchase including appliance type, manufacturer and model number.
- Proof of ComEd rebate received (when applicable)
- Photo(s) of installed appliances including appliance nameplate/label showing the model/serial number.
- Signed and dated Homeowner Participation Agreement(PDF, 106KB)
Once an application is approved, the Village will send a check to the owner’s address.

FAQ
Can I apply for more than one rebate per year?
Yes, a homeowner or property owner can apply for one rebate per appliance type per unit per year. There is a limit of 10 rebates per owner across all properties per year.
Am I eligible for a rebate as a renter?
As a renter, you are eligible for a rebate on the Saddle-style window heat pumps. To install a heat pump clothes dryer or induction cooktop, please work with your landlord.
How do I know if my appliance qualifies for a Village rebate?
The Village uses the same criteria as ComEd for eligibility of appliances. Please submit proof of your successful receipt of a ComEd rebate to verify eligibility for Village rebates. Window heat pumps do not currently qualify for ComEd rebates and your application can be submitted without the proof of ComEd rebate.
Can I get a rebate if I purchase an electric dryer?
No, the Village is only providing rebates for heat pump cloth dryers at this time.
Can I get a rebate for a portable induction cooktop?
No, the Village follows ComEd’s rebate guidelines and will only provide a rebate for full size cooktops and ranges.
