Business Assistance Grant Programs

The Village of Oak Park offers different grant opportunities to support local businesses making improvements to their establishment. Click on each grant below for more information.

Commercial Exterior Facade Improvement Grants

Receive up to 50% reimbursement for your investment in your business store front. Grants are capped at a maximum of $5,000.

Grant Criteria

Businesses must be a sales tax generating. Business must have an active business license and in good standing with the Village. Grant is available to any Oak Park business or commercial property owner.

Eligible Improvements

Upgrades to business signage
Upgrading windows
Door repairs
Awning installation
Repairing or installation of art
Tuckpointing; and more!

Interior Facade Improvement Grants

Receive up to 50% reimbursement for your investment in your business. Grants are capped at a maximum of $5,000.

Grant Criteria

Businesses must be a sales tax generating business. Business must have an active business license and in good standing with the Village. Grant available to any Oak Park business or commercial property owner.

Eligible Improvements

Replacement of interior windows or doors
Replacement of flooring/carpet
Painting of wall and ceiling surfaces
Interior tuck-pointing, if brick exposed
First floor HVAC improvements
Interior restoration that will improve the historic integrity of the building; and more!

Climate Ready Business Grants

Receive up to 50% reimbursement for your investment in sustainable business practices. Grants are capped at a maximum of $6,000 per store front.

Grant Criteria

Businesses in buildings over 10,000 square feet are eligible only if the building is in compliance with the Village’s benchmarking ordinance. Business must have an active business license and be in good standing with the Village. Grant is available to any Oak Park business or commercial property owner.

Eligible Improvements

Upgrades to energy-efficient lighting
Upgrading appliances (gas to electric conversion)
Materials or services to implement zero-waste initiatives
Installation of EV charging stations on property
Installation of solar panels; and more!

Fire Safety Business Grants

Receive up to 50% reimbursement for your investment in your business’ fire safety measures. Grants are capped at a maximum of $5,000.
