Fourth of July Parade
The many dimensions of diversity in Oak Park are on display when the annual Independence Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on July 4 from Longfellow Park at Ridgeland Avenue and Adams Street. Join us as we commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday!
The parade marches north on Ridgeland to Augusta Street, turning east to disperse near Whittier Elementary School at Harvey Avenue.
This year's Grand Marshal is Emergy Lehman, a four-time United States Olympian and Oak Park native. Featured groups for 2026 include Kaotic Drumline, Jesse White Tumblers, Medinah Shriners Mini Choppers, South Shore Drill Team and New Generation Fancy Drill Team.
Among the entries typically scheduled to march are social and special interest groups, community groups, athletic teams, politicians, businesses and service organizations, children’s groups, animal lovers with their pets and musical groups.
No parking signs will be posted along the route. Road closures near the parade route start as early as 8:30 a.m. on July 4.
