Understanding how your home uses energy and where energy is being wasted can help to inform low- or no-cost improvements to save money and make future appliance installation more efficient and affordable. An energy audit is a visit from a trained expert who checks how your space uses energy, where your home may be leaking, and the age and efficiency of your appliances. Weatherization means improving efficiency in your building by sealing leaks and reducing heat transfer, keeping your conditioned air inside your building. It includes insulation, weather stripping, and air sealing to reduce drafts and heat loss, improve indoor comfort, and lower heating and cooling costs.
