Tuesday, November 1, 2016  ::   Electricity customers who receive a letter from Constellation Energy Services, but already participate in the Village’s aggregation program will be enrolled automatically on Dec. 1, unless they choose to opt out by following the instructions in the letter.
Thursday, October 27, 2016  ::   Oak Park residents are invited to join new Police Chief Anthony Ambrose as he discusses his community-oriented approach to policing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 9 in Council Chamber of Village Hall.
Thursday, October 20, 2016  ::   Official hours for Halloween trick or treating in Oak Park are 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Parents are encouraged to accompany young children, especially after dark, and inspect all treats.
Thursday, October 20, 2016  ::   The final electronics recycling event of 2016 will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 29 at the Public Works Center, 201 South Blvd. Residents also can recycle used books of all kinds in any condition during the event.
Friday, October 14, 2016  ::   Oak Park's annual leaf collection program begins Monday, Oct. 17 and continues through Dec. 1 with seven pickups planned for each section of the Village. Leaves should be raked into the street at least 18 inches from the curb the day before the scheduled pickup dates.
Thursday, October 13, 2016  ::   The Oak Park Police Department is more prepared than ever to assist citizens experiencing an overdose caused by heroin or prescription pain relievers now that officers are equipped with Naloxone, a fast-acting drug that can save the life of an overdose victim.
Wednesday, October 5, 2016  ::   Voters looking to avoid potentially long lines when Election Day arrives on Tuesday, Nov. 8 have options. Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 24 at Village Hall and continues daily right up to Election Day. Registered voters can also choose to vote by mail.
Friday, September 30, 2016  ::   October is Fire Safety Month. Always on call for emergency service, the Oak Park Fire Department maintains three shifts of more than 20 trained professionals ready to provide around the clock protection to residents.
Wednesday, September 28, 2016  ::   Two individuals, two local non-profit organizations and two Oak Park businesses have been honored with the Dr. William Fitzsimmons Public Health Award for their contributions to the health and well-being of Oak Parkers.
Thursday, September 22, 2016  ::   Ten Oak Park restaurants received 2016 Johnson Awards in recognition for having the highest two-year average inspection scores. Named for Oak Park’s first lunchroom operated in the 1890s at 124 Lake St., this is the 31st year the Johnson Awards have been presented.
