Friday, September 14, 2018  ::   Ten Oak Park restaurants received 2018 Johnson Awards in recognition for having the highest two-year average inspection scores. Named for Oak Park’s first lunchroom operated in the 1890s at 124 Lake St., this is the 32nd time the Johnson Awards have been presented.
Wednesday, September 12, 2018  ::   Eight Oak Park sites will be among the more than 100 solar homes and businesses across the state that will open their doors to the public on Sept. 22 for the Illinois Solar Tour.

Thursday, September 6, 2018  ::   A total of 33 vehicles were stopped in Oak Park and 25 citations were issued as part of the Oak Park Police Department's Click It or Ticket Labor Day safety campaign, which involved additional traffic safety details from Aug. 20 through Sept. 4.
Wednesday, September 5, 2018  ::   Village officials recently delivered 200 three-ounce jars of honey to the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry. The donation came after about 50 pounds of honey was collected earlier this summer from the two bee hives installed this year at Village Hall.
Wednesday, August 22, 2018  ::   Desplaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District trucks were back on Oak Park streets from about 9 p.m. to midnight on Thurs., Aug. 23, the third time this season crews have sprayed here for adult mosquitoes.
Friday, August 10, 2018  ::   Rain caused the the Desplaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District to reschedule the season’s second round of spraying in Oak Park until Mon., Aug. 13. Spraying typically occurs from about 9 p.m. to midnight.
Monday, August 6, 2018  ::   After more than 34 years with the Oak Park Police Department, Chief Anthony Ambrose says he will retire at the end of August.
Sunday, July 29, 2018  ::   Oak Park Police are questioning eight individuals in connection with a report of shots fired early this morning on South Taylor Avenue near Roosevelt Road. No injuries were reported.
Friday, July 27, 2018  ::   The buzz of nectar-gathering activity that began nearly two years ago at the Public Works Center has come to Village Hall with two honeybee hives on the small outdoor balcony above the south entrance at 123 Madison St.
