Community Alert - Criminal Sexual Assault (June 24, 2026)

On Wednesday, June 24 at approximately 12:24 p.m., the Oak Park Police Department responded to the 1100 block of S. Lyman for the call of a Criminal Sexual Assault that had just occurred.

It was reported to responding officers that a female juvenile was approached by a male subject on a bicycle in the 1100 Lyman/Taylor alley, where the unknown male grabbed a juvenile from behind and a struggle ensued.  The offender placed a hand up the shorts of the juvenile. 

A search of the area for the offender took place with negative results in locating him.

The offender is described as a Male, possibly of Hispanic or Indian descent, in his 20’s, wearing a black shirt, colorful shorts and on a gray-colored bicycle. 

Oak Park Police Department Detectives have been assigned and are conducting a follow-up investigation. Officers have increased patrols in the area, as well, since the incident occurred Wednesday.
