Holiday Parking
As a courtesy to residents and their guests, overnight parking restrictions are not enforced on most Oak Park residential streets during several holidays each year, including Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. The days when the restrictions are lifted vary each year along with the holidays.
Enforcement will continue over the holidays for:
- Daytime metered parking/pay-station parking
- Overnight parking areas where parking permits are required, such as Village owned lots, on-street enclaves or on-street overnight parking zones.
- Any other parking restrictions, including all daytime posted restrictions and regulations related to traffic and public safety priorities.
Therefore, residents who will be out of town for the holidays and require 24 hour parking should consider parking in a Village-owned parking garage. Please call 708.358.7275 or e-mail parking@Oak-Park.us in advance of the holidays for more information on special garage pricing.

2025 Holiday Parking Schedule
- Memorial Day – Restrictions lifted at 2:30 a.m. Sat., May 24 and resume at 2:30 a.m. Wed., May 28.
- July 4 – Restrictions lifted at 2:30 a.m., Wed., July 2 and resume at 2:30 a.m. Mon., July 7.
- Labor Day – Restrictions lifted at 2:30 a.m., Sat., Aug. 30 and resume at 2:30 a.m. Wed., Sept. 3.
- Thanksgiving – Restrictions lifted at 2:30 a.m., Wed., Nov. 26 and resume at 2:30 a.m., Mon., Dec. 1.
- Christmas/New Year – Restrictions lifted at 2:30 a.m., Sat., Dec. 20 and resume at 2:30 a.m., Mon., Jan. 5, 2026.
