Neighborhood Clean-Up series set to expand in 2026

The Village of Oak Park is excited to bring back the Oak Park Neighborhood Clean-Up for 2026. Building on the one-day success of previous years, this community-driven initiative is expanding and inviting residents, families and local groups to come together to help keep Oak Park clean, vibrant and welcoming.

The clean-up events will take place on the first Saturday of each month from April through October, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, in different Oak Park neighborhoods each time. Events will take place on April 4, May 2, June 6, July 4, August 1, September 5 and October 3.

Volunteers who participate will receive a complimentary Clean-Up t-shirt as a token of appreciation for their service. Prior to the start of each clean-up event, all participants (or a parent or guardian on behalf of minors) will be asked to sign a liability waiver on-site.

Additional details regarding clean-up locations, assigned routes, meeting points, and day-of logistics will be shared via email to all registered participants prior to each selected event date(s). The Village Clerk recommends that all volunteers provide a valid and regularly checked email address, as this will be the primary method of communication for:

• Pre-event instructions
• Reminders leading up to the event
• Day-of coordination details
• Post-event follow-ups and appreciation messages
