1. Overview

The Village of Oak Park offers Climate Ready Energy Grants to support a range of energy upgrades and retrofits for homeowners in Oak Park. Make the most of these grants by stacking them with other available incentives.

Take advantage of federal incentives while they still exist! This webpage will be updated as incentives expire. Visit Rewiring America for more information.

Does your home or building need repair and rehabilitation before working on energy efficiency? The Village of Oak Park’s Homeowner Programs and Housing programs may be able to help.

Navigate the sections on this page for incentives available by category. For more information, please contact the Office of Sustainability & Resilience at sustainability@oak-park.us or 708.358.5770.

2. Home Energy Assessments, Energy Saving and Weatherization Programs

Understanding how your home uses energy and where energy is being wasted can help to inform low- or no-cost improvements to save money and make future appliance installation more efficient and affordable. An energy audit is a visit from a trained expert who checks how your space uses energy, where your home may be leaking, and the age and efficiency of your appliances. Weatherization means improving efficiency in your building by sealing leaks and reducing heat transfer, keeping your conditioned air inside your building. It includes insulation, weather stripping, and air sealing to reduce drafts and heat loss, improve indoor comfort, and lower heating and cooling costs.
