Village & Triton College Launch Masterclass for Frontline Employees

The Village of Oak Park’s Office of Economic Vitality and Triton College’s School of Continuing Education Center for Business & Professional Development have announced the launch of the Oak Park Workforce Academy, an initiative that provides workforce-development support directly to Oak Park businesses.
The Oak Park Workforce Academy begins this summer with a free four-part training series designed to equip frontline employees at Oak Park businesses with essential communication skills. This Communication Masterclass is designed to improve customer experience, strengthen employee retention and support economic vitality throughout Oak Park.
The series will span four consecutive weeks from July 14 – August 4. Sessions will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Village of Oak Park’s Office of Economic Vitality, 1010 Lake St., Suite 100.
“Strong communication skills are the foundation of every thriving business,” said John Melaniphy, Village of Oak Park Assistant Village Manager of Economic Vitality. “This unique partnership with Triton College allows us to invest directly in the people who represent Oak Park’s businesses every day. When frontline employees feel confident and capable, customers take note and that translates into stronger businesses and a vibrant local economy.”
The four-session masterclass will cover the following topics:
- Building Customer Relationships (July 14)
- Service & Sales (July 21)
- Managing Conflicts (July 28)
- Thinking on Your Feet Like a Team Leader (Aug. 4)
