Friday Summer Hours Begin June 5th at Village Hall
Published on May 27, 2026
Village Hall will close at noon on Fridays beginning June 4 as part of an initiative designed to provide Village employees more flexibility during the summer.
The shortened summer hours in 2026 will begin the first Friday in June and continue every week through Sept. 4.
Village Hall will be closed for the entire day on both Fri., June 19 and Fri., July 3 in observance of Juneteenth and Independence Day, respectively.
Anyone needing to conduct in-person business specifically on Fridays during June, July, August and Sept. 4 is encouraged to do so in the morning between 9 a.m. and noon.
"This is a meaningful benefit for our team, and we're committed to making sure it works seamlessly for the entire community," said Village Manager Kevin J. Jackson. "Residents can continue to count on the same high level of service on summer Fridays that they've always received, whether they visit us in the morning, reach us on a different day of the week or take advantage of our online services. As we foster a workplace culture centered around our values of community, connection, service, respect and results, we want our employees to enjoy the summer and all Oak Parkers to feel confident that nothing is falling through the cracks."
Residents are also reminded that many routine municipal services that do not require a visit to Village Hall are available online via links at www.oak-park.us/onlineservices, including construction permits, business licenses and parking permits.
Services provided to residents by sworn public safety staff in the Village’s Fire and Police Departments will not be impacted by this temporary seasonal change.
Village Hall will maintain regular 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours Monday through Thursday. Find more information about Village Hall hours at www.oak-park.us/villagehall.
