A Day in Our Village returns June 7 in Scoville Park
Published on May 26, 2026
Oak Park’s celebration of diversity and community involvement returns with the 52nd annual A Day in Our Village festival on Sunday, June 7.
The premier community event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Scoville Park at Lake Street and Oak Park Avenue. More than 140 activity booths representing Oak Park civic, cultural, social service, educational, religious and business organizations will fill the park along with live entertainment and a food court featuring local restaurants.
Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to consider biking or walking to Scoville Park, especially with the ongoing Renew the Avenue Project creating road closures along Oak Park Avenue in the Hemingway District. Free parking is available in all day on Sundays in the Avenue Parking Garage at 720 North Blvd.
The Park District of Oak Park is coordinating fun activities for kids, including the return of its bubble foam machine. Additional kids activities will be stationed on the north side of the park along Ontario Street. Park District officials suggest that families consider bringing towels or a change of clothes if their children plan to play in the foam.
A full schedule of music acts will perform on the Scoville Park stage throughout the event. Reverie Stone is slated to take the stage at 11 a.m. followed by music from Cote Lind at 12:15 p.m and Toy Robot at 1 p.m. A dance performance by Halau Ka Pono is scheduled for 2:15 p.m., and Midnight Sun will take the stage from 3 p.m. until the event concludes.
A food court featuring local restaurants will be located near the entrance to the Oak Park Public Library. Participating businesses include Khyber Pass, Domino's Pizza, Don’t Forget Your Lunchbox, Fitzgerald's, Taco Motora, Candycopia, Crumb Crusher Cupcakes and Zemi Coffee.
A Day in Our Village t-shirts will be available for purchase at the A Day in Our Village information booth.
Volunteers are needed to assist the day of the event, especially from around 3 to 4:30 p.m. Visit www.oak-park.us/CommunityEvents for more information about signing up to volunteer.
A Day in Our Village is sponsored by the Village and made possible thanks to organizing support from the A Day in Our Village volunteer committee.
