The community is invited to support Oak Park Police Sergeant Samantha Deuchler and other cyclists participating in the 21st Annual Cycle Across Illinois, benefitting Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), an organization dedicated to supporting the families of fallen officers.

Deuchler is riding in honor of OPPD’s Detective Allan Reddins, who was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 29, 2024. More than 100 riders will travel over 350 miles from July 10-13.

On the afternoon of Sunday, July 13, cyclists will travel down Madison Street in Oak Park before stopping at Village Hall for a ceremony and dedication honoring Reddins. Supporters are encouraged to line the street. Donations made will help provide essential resources, counseling and support to families who have lost their loved ones in the line of duty.

  • 2:25 p.m. (anticipated) cyclists will ride along Madison Street between Harlem & Lombard avenues
  • Ceremony to honor Det. Allan Reddins to follow in the Village Hall Courtyard, 123 Madison St.

Make a donation to support Sgt. Deuchler

Running 4 Heroes, Inc. will also be participating in this event with a one mile run in honor of Det. Reddins. This non-profit organization supports youth runners who run one mile in honor of a fallen first responder. Zachary will be running in honor of Det. Reddins.
