CDBG Grants Coordinator

The Village of Oak Park is seeking a diligent and detail oriented CDBG Grants Coordinator to join our team. This role will support the Community Services Administrator in administering the Village’s CDBG program, as well as other local or state grant programs as needed. The ideal applicant will have a background in federal or state grant programs and a strong interest in community development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of CDBG program regulations and apply them to the operation of the program.
  • Monitor and manage grantee’s use of CDBG funds to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain appropriate grant records and files and monitor all paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Undertake environmental reviews for federally funded programs.
  • Recommends grant related policy adjustments and implementation improvements to the Community Services Administrator.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of increasing responsibility with grant writing, monitoring of grant funded programs, or municipal administrative experience.
  • Previous experience with federal or state grant funded programs.
  • Equivalent experience to a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in public administration, accounting, economics urban planning, or a related field.
