Civic involvement has been a cornerstone of Adam Salzman's career, both as a practicing attorney and an Oak Park resident. Prior to his election as Village Trustee, Adam served as chair of the Universal Access Commission (UAC) of Oak Park, which advocates on behalf of residents with disabilities. Prior to becoming UAC chair, he served as a UAC commissioner. Adam's legal career began as an attorney with the Cook County Public Guardian's office where he represented abused and neglected minors in the foster care system, and adults with disabilities in the probate division of the Cook County Circuit Court. He subsequently went into private practice focusing on disability rights, labor, employment and administrative law. Adam lives in Northeast Oak Park with his wife Jill and his two young daughters, Maggie and Roxy. His term expires in April 2019.
