Tuesday, March 27, 2018  ::   The Environment & Energy Commission is bringing back its weekly lecture series each Tuesday in April in celebration of Earth Month. The series of discussions will be held at the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St.
Friday, March 23, 2018  ::   Oak Park Police are investigating an attempted carjacking that was reported at about 2:15 p.m., Fri., March 23 in the 400 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. The victim, who sustained a minor abrasion but did not require medical attention, described the men as African American in their mid-20s. No other details were provided.
Friday, March 16, 2018  ::   Applications are now open for three separate public art projects in the Village - the seventh annual Oak Park Sculpture Walk, the Oak Park Area Arts Council's mini-mural project and the Oak Park Arts District's streetlight pole banner project.
Tuesday, March 13, 2018  ::   A specially designed mobile stroke unit soon will begin offering immediate diagnosis and treatment of patients wherever there is need. The custom-built ambulance is one of only six in the nation and is based at Rush Oak Park Hospital.
Thursday, March 8, 2018  ::   Applications are now being accepted for 30 grants through RainReady Oak Park, a new program to help property owners pay for smart landscaping approaches that will better manage rain water.
Wednesday, February 28, 2018  ::   Suburban Cook County voters can cast an early Primary Election ballot at Village Hall, 123 Madison St. from March 5 – 19, including weekends. Village Hall also will offer grace-period registration during early voting hours.
Tuesday, February 27, 2018  ::   All dogs and outdoor cats in Oak Park are required to display a current animal license, which must be renewed each year by May 1. Licenses can be renewed online, but proof of current rabies inoculation and spaying/neutering is needed to license a new pet.
Friday, February 23, 2018  ::   A Schiller Park woman told Police her cell phone was taken after she tossed it toward the street as she believed she was about to be robbed by three men at approximately 8:15 p.m. yesterday in the 1000 block of West Randolph Street. No injuries were reported and no weapon displayed or implied.
Thursday, February 15, 2018  ::   A 33-year-old Oak Park woman gave up her purse to two men, one believed to be armed with a handgun, at about 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the 400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Police have not determined if the incident is related to another robbery that occurred later the same night on Randolph Street at Harvey Avenue.
Thursday, February 15, 2018  ::   A 31-year-old Oak Park man reported that his wallet and cell phone were taken at gunpoint at about 9:15 p.m., Wed. Feb. 14 as he walked westbound on Randolph Street at Harvey Avenue.
