Woman feels threatened, tosses phone, flees

Feb. 23, 2018 – A Schiller Park woman told Police her cell phone was taken after she tossed it toward the street as she believed she was about to be robbed by three men at approximately 8:15 p.m. yesterday in the 1000 block of West Randolph Street.

According to the victim, she was standing on the sidewalk talking on her cell phone when the three men approached and one asked to see the phone. She said after she tossed the phone toward the street the man tried to go through her coat pockets, but she pulled away and fled west on Randolph.

One of the men then picked up her phone from the street and all three suspects fled northbound into a nearby alley, she said.

No injuries were reported and no weapon displayed or implied.

The victim described the suspects as African American, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 130 to 150 pounds and wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. She said one of the men was wearing a mask covering the lower portion of his face.
