Tuesday, April 17, 2018  ::   A Chicago juvenile is in custody in connection with a vehicle bump-and-run carjacking Saturday in Oak Park. The stolen vehicle was stopped in Chicago yesterday following a pursuit that began near the North Riverside Park Mall.

Friday, April 6, 2018  ::   The tenacity of Oak Park Police has led to charges against a Chicago man for an early morning drive-by shooting on South Oak Park Avenue in 2016. Rasheed Mujkovic, 25, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with the shooting of a 21-year-old Berwyn man who was walking in the 1000 block of South Oak Park Avenue at about 2:30 a.m., on May 28, 2016.
Thursday, April 5, 2018  ::   Nominations are now being accepted for William Fitzsimmons Awards that honor those who made exceptional contributions to improving the health of Oak Parkers during 2017. The nomination deadline is 5 p.m., Fri., May 4.
Wednesday, April 4, 2018  ::   Oak Park Police are investigating a burglary turned home invasion after a woman found a man inside her house today in the 1100 block of Lombard Avenue. The victim was not injured and the suspect fled the scene before Police arrived.
Monday, April 2, 2018  ::   Oak Park Police have found 13 of the 15 cars reported stolen from the Hertz facility at 629 Madison St. Two of the 15 cars originally reported stolen were determined to have been rented prior to the incident. Of the 13 vehicles determined to have been stolen, 11 have been recovered, the most recent one found in Broadview today. Vehicles also were found over the weekend in Chicago and Oak Park.
Monday, April 2, 2018  ::   Residents have one more opportunity to weigh in on a proposed pilot program intended to test concepts for improving Oak Park’s myriad of parking rules and regulations. The Transportation Commission's latest proposal is online for comments until noon April 23.
Sunday, April 1, 2018  ::   A fire in a condominium in the 300 block of Wisconsin Avenue claimed the life of the man inside the unit. No other injuries were reported, most likely because of working smoke detectors, fire officials said.
Wednesday, March 28, 2018  ::   A thief drove off with a Chicago woman’s vehicle today when she got out to check for damage after her SUV was bumped from behind by another vehicle on Oak Park Avenue near Van Buren Street. No injuries were reported and no weapon displayed.
