Early voting under way at Village Hall

Oct. 5, 2016 - Local election officials are bracing for a big turnout for the 2016 Presidential Election, but options abound for voters looking to avoid potentially long lines when Election Day arrives on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 24 at Village Hall, 123 Madison Street, and continues daily right up to Election Day. Polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. During the week of Oct. 31 to Nov. 4, polls will be open extended hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Registered voters can also choose to vote by mail. To request a ballot, visit www.cookcountyclerk.com/elections, choose “Vote By Mail” in the left panel and fill out the application. The deadline to apply for a mail ballot is Nov. 3.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voter registration cards with polling place information will be sent out by mail in the month before the election.

Paper ballots are available using vote by mail or at your polling place on Election Day, but early voting will be by touchscreen only.
