Police search for man suspected of public indecency

May 16, 2016 – Oak Park Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who reportedly exposed himself to a young jogger early Sunday evening near Barrie Park on the Village’s southeast side.

The description of the man is similar to a report of public indecency on Feb. 22 in the area south of the Eisenhower Expressway.

In this latest incident, the 11-year-old victim and her mother flagged down a Police officer about an hour after the incident following their failed attempts to locate the man in the neighborhood.

The man was described as white, about 40 to 45 years old, medium build with short, blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a red tee shirt and blue jeans.

According to the victim, the man exposed himself from the back yard of a house as she jogged at about 6:40 p.m. near the 1100 block of South Harvey Avenue. When she began the return run to her home, she observed the same man exposing himself from the backyard of a house in the 1000 block of South Euclid Avenue.

The man did not speak or approach, the victim told Police, but only stared.

Police canvassed the neighborhood and talked to residents, but were unable to find or identify the man.

In the incident on Feb. 22, a female juvenile walking alone said she had observed a man at a distance exposing himself. No words were exchanged and the juvenile was not approached.

The victim in this incident described the man as white, about 45 to 55 years old, five-feet eight inches to five-feet eleven inches tall, medium build, wearing dark clothing.
