The Village is marking the one-year anniversary of the adoption of the Climate Ready Oak Park plan by hosting a community discussion on Oak Park’s progress and goals in the area of environmental sustainability.
The event is taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 at the Oak Park Public Library Veterans Room, 834 Lake St.
The Village’s Chief Sustainability Officer Marcella Bondie Keenan will be joined by other community partners in providing information about Oak Park’s climate plan and gathering feedback around three key questions:
- Where are we today on climate as a community? What climate, sustainability, and equity actions have we – individually and collectively – taken over the past year?
- Where do we want to go in the next year?
- How do we get there in a climate-just way?
Each discussion table will have a facilitator and recorder. Afterwards, the Village will publish a brief report celebrating Oak Park’s collective progress over the past year and community strategies for moving forward in the next year.
Anyone planning to attend can register for the event on the Library's website - click here to register.
