Thursday, May 12, 2022  ::   With COVID-19 cases surging across the region and reports of outbreaks in Oak Park on the rise, the Oak Park Health Department continues to step up its efforts to slow the spread of the virus.
Friday, May 6, 2022  ::   With COVID-19 cases on the rise across the region, Oak Park and the rest of Cook County are currently at the medium level of transmission. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 Community Levels Framework defines medium transmission as higher than 200 cases per 100,000 residents.

Wednesday, May 4, 2022  ::   An Oak Park man has been charged after bringing a gun onto school grounds at Oak Park River Forest High School on Tuesday. Keyon Robinson, 18, of the 1000 block of Washington Boulevard, has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was also found to have an active warrant out of DuPage County for a traffic violation.

Thursday, April 14, 2022  ::   Village Manager Kevin Jackson has named Shatonya Johnson to serve as Interim Police Chief as the Village embarks on a nationwide search to permanently fill the role that will be vacated when current Police Chief LaDon Reynolds retires.

Tuesday, April 5, 2022  ::   The Oak Park Fire Department has begun testing fire hydrants as part of a routine procedure that is expected to continue into June to ensure proper operations of these vital emergency response devices.
Friday, March 25, 2022  ::   After nearly 28 years with the Oak Park Police Department, Chief LaDon Reynolds has announced his retirement effective April 15. Reynolds, who has been Chief since January 2019, said he wants to spend more time with his family and assess his future career options.
Wednesday, March 23, 2022  ::   Kevin Jackson was sworn in as Village Manager during a special ceremony Mon., March 21 in the Council Chamber at Village Hall. He is the 11th person to hold the title and Oak Park's first Black Village Manager.
