Green Block Party Request Form

Keep Oak Park Beautiful, the local chapter of Keep America Beautiful, can help coordinate green block parties. Please fill out this form and indicate which activities and programs you would like to request for your block party.

Upon receiving a green block party request, you will receive a confirmation about the services requested that include proper recycling guidelines.

Some of the services may be provided by third-party non-profit organizations in Oak Park. These organizations are not affiliated with the Village of Oak Park. Services that are not denoted as free may require payment or donation to the organizations. Any arrangements made are strictly between the residents on the block and the organization.

For more information on Keep Oak Park Beautiful, call 708.358.5700 or e-mail publicworks@oak-park.us.

How it Works

You will receive a free Green Block Party kit that includes compostable bags for the compostable items, and 3 pop-up Compost, Recycle and Landfill sorting boxes to set up with the included signage indicating what goes where. These containers, signage and clamps will be re-used and collected by the Village of Oak Park and must be broken down and left with the barricades for pick-up.

You are responsible for clean-up and putting the proper materials into your regular collection carts in the alley. Remember that no plastic bags are allowed in any of the recycling bins. The Village of Oak Park will not clean-up or pick-up trash from your event. You may call Public Works to schedule a special pick-up if it is needed after your event 708-358-5700.
