Green Block Party Request Form

Green Block Party requests must be made at least seven days prior to the event. The Green Block Party season is from April 1 to October 31.

Please complete the Green Block Party request form below. A confirmation email will be sent when the Green Block Party has been approved. The Green Block Party Kit includes: one 55-gallon compostable green bag, one 55-gallon clear bag for recyclables, one black 55-gallon trash bag, and three event boxes for trash, recycle and compost. Additional bags may need to be purchased by the organizer.

The event boxes are re-used and collected by the Village of Oak Park. Please leave the broken down boxes at the home where they were dropped off for pick-up at 8 a.m. Monday morning following the block party.

Residents are responsible for clean-up and refuse disposal after the block party. Remember that no plastic bags are allowed in any of the recycling bins. The Village of Oak Park will not clean-up or pick-up trash from your event. Residents may call Public Works to schedule a special refuse pick-up at 708.358.5700.

Some of the services will be provided by third-party non-profit organizations in Oak Park. These organizations are not affiliated with the Village of Oak Park. Services that are not denoted as free may require payment or donation to the organizations. Any arrangements made are strictly between the residents on the block and the organization.
