Not too late for a flu shot…Getting vaccinated against the flu in November or even December is not too late. Vaccination is a key strategy to reduce the spread of the flu in Oak Park this winter, and health officials recommend that everyone older than six months get vaccinated every year. The flu vaccine is offered at numerous medical providers, commercial pharmacies, grocery stores and other retail sites in the Oak Park area. Visit www.vaccines.gov/find-vaccines to search for a flu vaccine. Most of these sites accept private insurances and Medicare Part B to help cover the cost of the flu shot.
