Oak Park Police promote four veterans to top posts

Four veterans from within the Police Department’s ranks have been promoted to high level command posts.

Joseph Moran, a detective commander with more than 25 years of experience with the Oak Park Police Department, was sworn in as deputy chief, joining Deputy Chief Frank Limon on the Department’s senior command staff.

Three veteran sergeants were promoted to the rank of commander — Donicio Silva, who joined the Police Department in 1994, Dave Jacobson who joined in 1995 and Shatonya Johnson, who has served here since 2000.

As Deputy Chief, Moran will oversee the Patrol Division, which includes all of the men and women in uniform who police the community day to day. Jacobson is Patrol Commander, Silva the Operations Commander and Johnson the Detective Commander.

Information on the Oak Park Police Department and its community policing programs are posted online at www.oak-park.us/police.
