Envision Oak Park offers residents an opportunity to participate in a community-wide process to develop the long-range Comprehensive Plan that will serve as a foundation for decision-making for decades to come. A vision kick-off event is scheduled for 7:30 – 9 p.m., Wed., Feb. 20 at the 19th Century Club, 178 Forest Ave. This event will help planners prioritize a broad set of issues, from economic development to diversity, from education to the environment, from neighborhoods to transportation, and much more. The event will include dialogue with the community and engaging techniques for gathering input. Residents are urged to bring a group of people so issues important to the future of Oak Park can be discussed. To date, 21 Envision Oak Park workshops have been conducted with residents, neighbors, businesses and students to identify the key issues facing the Village. Although many voices have been heard, even greater participation is desired.
