Wednesday, November 23, 2016  ::   Beginning after Thanksgiving, anyone can park free for two hours at a tagged or bagged meter or in a pay-by-space lot on Saturdays before Dec. 25. Parking also is free all day Saturdays in the public garages during the period and always is free on Sundays.
Monday, November 21, 2016  ::   It is with great sadness that the Village of Oak Park must report the tragic death of a member of its police family. Anthony P. Razzino, 45, was discovered by a friend at about 4:30 p.m. Friday in his South Oak Park Avenue home.

Tuesday, November 1, 2016  ::   Electricity customers who receive a letter from Constellation Energy Services, but already participate in the Village’s aggregation program will be enrolled automatically on Dec. 1, unless they choose to opt out by following the instructions in the letter.
Thursday, October 27, 2016  ::   Oak Park residents are invited to join new Police Chief Anthony Ambrose as he discusses his community-oriented approach to policing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 9 in Council Chamber of Village Hall.
Thursday, October 20, 2016  ::   Official hours for Halloween trick or treating in Oak Park are 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Parents are encouraged to accompany young children, especially after dark, and inspect all treats.
Thursday, October 20, 2016  ::   The final electronics recycling event of 2016 will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 29 at the Public Works Center, 201 South Blvd. Residents also can recycle used books of all kinds in any condition during the event.
Friday, October 14, 2016  ::   Oak Park's annual leaf collection program begins Monday, Oct. 17 and continues through Dec. 1 with seven pickups planned for each section of the Village. Leaves should be raked into the street at least 18 inches from the curb the day before the scheduled pickup dates.
