Friday, March 3, 2017  ::   Mayor Anan Abu-Taleb selected lifelong Oak Parker and Township Trustee Jim Taglia to fill the trustee slot left vacant by the resignation of Adam Salzman. A Village Board vote on the selection is set for Monday night.
Wednesday, March 1, 2017  ::   The Village Board is conducting a comprehensive review of Oak Park’s wide array of parking rules and regulations. Public meetings are planned to discuss a variety of topics.
Thursday, February 9, 2017  ::   The Oak Park Police department has released the crime data compiled for 2016 for the state’s annual Uniform Crime Reporting Index. Police investigated 1,605 crimes in 2016 compared to 1,568 crimes reported in 2015. The number of crimes reported in 2016 remained below the 1,665 crimes reported in 2014 and 1,798 crimes reported in 2013.

Friday, January 27, 2017  ::   With interest growing in potential development plans for the property located at 1000 Lake Street, Village officials took steps Friday to clarify the plan development process.
Wednesday, January 25, 2017  ::   An open house set for 6:30 to 9 p.m., Wed., Feb. 8 at Village Hall, 123 Madison St. will offer residents and business operators an opportunity to learn about major improvements planned for Lake Street. Drop by any time during the open house to view exhibits, speak with Village staff and consultants, and comment on the project that could include the entire length of the important commercial roadway from Harlem Avenue to Austin Boulevard.
Tuesday, January 10, 2017  ::   In addition to paying at any parking meter or pay-by-space lot in the Village, residents and visitors now can also use the same convenient and easy-to-use Passport Parking app to secure an overnight on-street parking pass.
Monday, January 9, 2017  ::   Michael T. Charley has been named permanent Director of the Oak Park Department of Public Health. Charley oversees an operation that is one of only four state-certified municipal health departments in suburban Cook County.
