Tuesday, May 16, 2017  ::   In an annual rite of spring, the Oak Park Farmers’ Market opened its 42nd season Sat., May 20. Opening day featured seed-potting activities for children, as well as Go Green tables with information to help families live and garden in more environmentally friendly ways.
Monday, May 15, 2017  ::   Buoyed by its successful participation in the first-ever Illinois Distracted Driving campaign last month, the Oak Park Police Department is planning additional efforts in the coming months to tackle the important safety issue.
Thursday, May 11, 2017  ::   Warmer weather typically means construction, and this year is no different. Several projects are on the horizon in the coming months. The biggest project involves rebuilding Fillmore Street, which runs east-west across the entire south side of the Village.
Monday, May 8, 2017  ::   Oak Park Police are investigating a carjacking early yesterday evening near Roosevelt Road and Harlem Avenue that resulted in the death of a Westchester man who tried to stop the thief.
Friday, May 5, 2017  ::   Every Oak Park resident who owns or leases a motor vehicle is required to purchase and display a Village sticker annually before July 15 to get the lowest rate. The rate increases by $20 after the deadline. Failure to display a valid Village sticker also could result in a $75 ticket.
Wednesday, May 3, 2017  ::   A 28-year-old Berwyn man was killed shortly after midnight today when the motorcycle he was driving struck a vehicle at the intersection of Cuyler Avenue and Roosevelt Road on the southernmost border of Oak Park.
Monday, May 1, 2017  ::   The enrollment process for the Village electric aggregation program begins this week with mailings to customers who already participate as well as those who might want to join the community program for the first time.

Thursday, March 30, 2017  ::   A new program made possible by a $2,000 grant from FM Global will help the Oak Park Fire Department raise awareness about the importance of having an operational smoke detector.
