Dec. 26, 2019 – A 62-year-old Oak Park woman died this morning from injuries sustained when she was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Pleasant Street and Scoville Avenue.
According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle, driven by a 63-year-old Oak Park man, was turning eastbound onto Pleasant Street from Scoville Avenue when the accident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.
The pedestrian, who has been identified as Karen Daniel of the 600 block of S. Grove St., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian. He passed a field sobriety test and submitted to blood and urine testing.
