Blizzard warning triggers emergency parking rules

Update 7 a.m., Nov. 27, 2018 - The snow emergency parking restrictions have been lifted, effective 7 a.m., today. Normal parking rules and regulations are in force.

Nov. 25, 2018 - With forecasts calling for blizzard conditions and up to a foot of snow, Oak Park's snow emergency parking plan is in effect beginning at 10 p.m., Sun., Nov. 25 and will stay in effect until conditions are deemed safe. 

Parking is prohibited on designated snow routes and restricted to one side on all other streets.Map of Oak Park snow routes

If you usually park on a designated snow route, you must move your car to a side street while the snow emergency parking plan is in effect.

Snow routes include Augusta Boulevard, Austin Boulevard, Chicago Avenue, Division Street, Garfield Street, Harlem Avenue, Harrison Street, Jackson Boulevard, Lake Street, Madison Street, North Avenue, Oak Park Avenue, Ridgeland Avenue, Roosevelt Road and Wisconsin Avenue from Madison Street to the emergency entrance of Oak Park Hospital.

If you park on a street that is not a posted snow route, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. you must park on the even numbered address side of the street on even number days (east and north sides of street) and on the odd numbered address side of the street on odd number days (west and south sides of street).
