Wednesday, June 27, 2018  ::   The 14-year-old from Chicago was charged today in connection with a carjacking in Oak Park earlier this week in the 700 block of Wesley Avenue. He was charged with one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking after being identified by the victim.

Monday, June 25, 2018  ::   A 28-year-old Chicago woman has been charged in connection with a panhandling incident that escalated into a stabbing in the early morning hours of June 17 by the East Avenue Blue Line exit. Diamond A. Gatewood of the 2000 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue in Chicago has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and one count of aggravated battery.
Friday, June 22, 2018  ::   A juvenile is in custody in connection with two attempted carjackings at about 5:30 p.m. yesterday in the 800 block of Belleforte Avenue and 1200 block of Columbian Avenue. Neither vehicle was take and no injuries were reported.
Thursday, June 21, 2018  ::   The common practice of placing plastic bags in blue recycling carts drives up costs and drives down the value of the community's curbside recycling program. Clean plastic single-use bags should be returned to grocery stores and big-box retailers that collect them for proper recycling.
