East Lake Street planning study

A planning study for Lake Street between Ridgeland Avenue and Austin Boulevard, including a study of the transit area at South Boulevard, was recently completed as part of a community wide effort to create long-term redevelopment strategies for Oak Park’s business districts. The objective of the Lake Street study was to develop a plan that will improve the economic marketability of the area, while enhancing the quality of life within the surrounding neighborhoods. The study also assessed the livability, vibrancy and ambiance of the area as it relates to potential future development. Studies also have been conducted for Chicago Avenue, Roosevelt Road, the Harrison Street and Oak Park Avenue-Eisenhower business districts and the greater downtown area.
