Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 has hired Joylynn Pruitt, Ed.D., as interim superintendent for the 2016/2017 school year. Dr. Pruitt fills the position vacated by Steven Isoye, now superintendent of Niles Township High School District 219. Prior to relocating to Oak Park, Dr. Pruitt served nine years as superintendent of the University City school district in Missouri. She also was an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Previous positions have included assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, elementary school principal and 11 years as a special education teacher. She earned her doctorate in educational policy and leadership from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2015. Dr. Pruitt’s contract is for 200 days over the course of the current school year. The Board of Education is working with educational leadership search consultant BWP & Associates to hire a permanent superintendent for the 2017/2018 school year.
