The Park District of Oak Park will officially open the doors of the new Gymnastics and Recreation Center at 21 Lake St. on Oct. 5.
Residents are invited to an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for guided tours, a sneak peak at gymnastics team practice, refreshments, giveaways and other activities. Kids can enjoy an inflatable obstacle course and try out the new in-ground tumbling track, while parents watch the action from the second-floor viewing balcony.
The 18,670 square-foot-facility will house an expanded program of gymnastics classes as well as a birthday party service, fitness classes in the two multi-purpose rooms and many other recreational activities.
