Making multi-family housing smoke-free

Property managers, owners and condo boards interested in creating smoke-free buildings can find help from the Oak Park Department of Public Health. Thanks to a state grant, local public health officials have created a range of materials on how to transition to a smoke-free property. Information includes sample letters for tenants, lease addendums and other resources. A smoke-free building is one where smoking is not permitted in any indoor units or common areas. No-smoking policies not only encourage healthier living and a safer environment, but also help make the building more durable, reduce operating costs and improve air quality.
