The deadline for nominations is October 14, with awards to be presented in December. Here are the details:

Historic Preservation: Nomination categories include restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive use, additions/new construction, stewardship, detail and design. Nominations need not be in a historic district and interior work may be considered in conjunction with exterior work.

More details are at www.oak-park.us/preservationawards.

Sustainability: Projects should fit the preservation award criteria, but also adapt, add to, rehabilitate or restore an older structure while innovatively addressing sustainability issues of air, energy, waste and water. Awards are given for both residential and commercial projects.

Accessibility: Businesses, organizations and other entities that provide extraordinary accessibility for patrons with disabilities and their families may be nominated for this award.
