Tonight's topic is Environmental Potpourri: In your own backyard.
Kari Spiegelhalter of the Midwest Pesticide Action Center will discuss the hazards of pesticide/herbicide use and safe practices to avoid chemical lawn applications. Stephanie Walquist and Pam Todd of West Cook Wild Ones will discuss native plants, backyard prairies and the organization’s Wildlife Corridor project. Karen Rozmus, Oak Park’s Environmental Services Manager, will give an update on the Village’s food scrap compost collection program.
