COVID-19 in High-Risk Populations

COVID-19 is a new disease and there is limited information regarding risk factors for severe illness.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based on currently available information and clinical expertise, older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

COVID-19 Resources

The Oak Park Department of Public Health is working to address the needs of vulnerable populations in the community by working with long-term care facilities, health care professionals, property managers, faith-based organizations and social service agencies to make sure information about COVID-19 and how it spreads reaches high-risk residents.

These efforts include distributing a range of documents with information about COVID-19, ways to prevent the spread and information about free testing availability.
