Condominium Association Resources

Given the increasing number of condominium and townhome associations in the community, and requests made to Village staff, programs have been developed specifically for condominium associations. The free programs are designed to teach good governance practices and strengthen Oak Park’s associations.

Condominium Network Meetings

The Village sponsors free education seminars for condominium and townhome owners. Seminars are from 7 - 9 p.m., in Council Chambers of Village Hall, 123 Madison St. For details on topics, dates and locations, call 708.358.5410 or e-mail the Housing Division click to e-mail the Housing Division.

Condominium Management Program

The Village has partnered with the Oak Park Residence Corporation to provide one-on-one assistance to small condominium associations with fewer than 12 units. The Residence Corporation will work with individual associations to assess their capacity to manage their association and to build their capacity.  Services may include helping to learn how to budget for contingencies, how to conduct meetings and elections, and how to ensure the association is fully protected. For more information, call 708.386.6061 or e-mail bswaggerty@oakparkrc.com.

Learn and Lead: Strengthen Your Association

The Village partnered with the Association of Condominium, Townhouse, and Homeowners Associations (ACTHA) to sponsor a six-week training program to help associations increase their knowledge of proven practices of successful associations. The curriculum is designed for individuals who currently are on an association board, thinking of joining a board or want to understand how an association should operate. All sessions are from 7 - 9 p.m., at Village Hall, 123 Madison St. No advance registration or fee is required unless an attendee is interested in pursuing certification. Individuals interested in certification should contact Gael Mennecke at 312.987.1906 or via e-mail to gael@actha.org.
