2012 Village Board Meetings

Regular Village Board meetings are held at 7:30 p.m., the first and third Mondays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall, 123 Madison St. When a regular meeting falls on a holiday, meetings typically are held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions, which often are working meetings intended to allow extended discussion of items that may later come before the board at a regular meeting for a vote. Special meetings typically occur on the second and fourth Monday. However, dates and times of special meetings can vary and may change. If you require assistance to participate in any Village program or activity, contact the ADA Coordinator at 708.358.5430 or e-mail building@oak-park.us at least 48 hours before the scheduled activity.

Regular board meetings are broadcast live on VOP-TV, the government television station available to Comcast subscribers on channel 6 and AT&t subscribers on channel 99. Meetings are replayed at 11 a.m., Sundays and Tuesdays, and 7 p.m., Wednesdays. Days and times of live cablecast vary for other meetings, but they are replayed at 11 a.m., Thursdays and Saturdays, and 7 p.m., Tuesdays. Agendas for regular board meetings typically are posted on the web site the week prior to a scheduled meeting. Special meeting agendas are posted as soon as possible prior to the meeting, but typically at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting date. Agendas and regular board meeting minutes available on this web site also may be reviewed at the Office of the Village Clerk in Village Hall, 123 Madison St.

Items listed under the regular board meeting consent agenda heading usually are not individually debated and are passed en bloc with one vote, unless the item is moved to the regular agenda.

A maximum of three people may speak to each side of a regular agenda item. Such items either have been the subject of a public hearing by a designated hearing body or are scheduled for a public hearing. Public comment usually is not taken during study sessions.
