Weights and Measures The Office of Village Clerk exercises the local authority to regulate businesses that utilize weights and measures, such as gas station pumps and grocery store scales. The Village is responsible for regular inspection of these devices in order to insure that the weights appearing on a scale and the volumes appearing on a gas pump are accurate and within tolerances established by Illinois statute.
